Information we collect

Information you give us

If you use our contact form or email us, we may receive your name, email address, telephone number if you choose to provide it, your message and any other information included in your enquiry. Please do not send sensitive personal information unless it is necessary.

Technical information

Our website is hosted and operated using IONOS MyWebsite Creator. IONOS SiteAnalytics collects limited technical information for statistical evaluation and technical optimisation, including the page requested, referring website, browser, operating system, device type, time of access and an anonymised form of the visitor's IP address. IONOS states that SiteAnalytics does not use cookies, does not identify individual visitors and does not pass its analytics data to third parties.

Why we use personal information

We use personal information to respond to enquiries; take requested steps before entering into an agreement; operate, secure and improve the website; understand general website use; prevent misuse, spam and technical problems; and meet legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Our lawful bases are legitimate interests, steps at your request before entering into a contract, legal obligation and consent where required for optional cookies or third-party content. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that took place beforehand.

Contact forms and correspondence

Contact-form responses are processed through our IONOS website platform and may also be delivered to our email account. We use the information only to deal with your enquiry and related administration. We keep it only for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the enquiry, maintain any relevant business record and meet legal obligations, then delete or anonymise it.

Embedded services and external links

The website uses or links to services operated by other organisations. They have their own privacy information and may receive technical information such as your IP address, device information and the page you visited.

YouTube

Our live harbour cameras and videos use YouTube, a Google service. Where technically possible, we use YouTube's privacy-enhanced embedding option.

Cookies and consent

Some cookies are strictly necessary for the website to work. Optional cookies and similar technologies must not be used until any required consent has been obtained. Where optional embedded services require consent, they will be controlled through the website's privacy choices. You can also remove stored cookies through your browser settings.

Sharing personal information

We do not sell personal information. We share it only where necessary with IONOS and its service providers; providers of embedded or linked services when you use them; professional advisers or public authorities where reasonably necessary; or another organisation if part of the business is transferred, subject to appropriate protections.

International transfers

Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data protection law applies, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards recognised by UK GDPR. The relevant provider's privacy notice gives more information.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. No internet service can be guaranteed completely secure, so please do not send information that is not needed for your enquiry.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of your personal information;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • request deletion or restricted use;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • receive information you provided in a portable format; and
  • withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.

These rights are not absolute and exemptions may apply. Email colin.oreilly@royal-harbour-radio.co.uk to exercise a right. We may need to confirm your identity.

You can also make a data protection complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Children

This website is intended for a general audience and is not designed to collect personal information from children. A child should ask a parent or guardian before sending information through the contact form.
